AWS Joins the AI Model Party with Amazon Nova
At the re: Invent 2024 conference, Amazon presented its new products, advancements, and plans for the future. One of the products that has been generating the most buzz is Amazon Nova, an AI model available through Amazon Bedrock.
Amazon Nova is a group of artificial intelligence models capable of processing text, images, and videos as prompts. With Amazon Bedrock, users can test different models, including the three Amazon Nova models, to determine which is the best fit for their needs.

What is Amazon Nova?
Amazon Nova is a new generative artificial intelligence solution from AWS. This group of AI models is capable of processing prompts in text, images, and videos. In this way, users can provide different types of data to the model and receive recommendations, analysis, ideas, and much more.

Amazon Nova Micro
This comprehension model is the least expensive, but it also has the fewest features. Amazon Nova Micro is a model that processes only text with low latency.
This product performs well on tasks like translation, text summarization, content classification, conversation, and brainstorming. For more advanced tasks like mathematics or coding, Amazon Nova Micro performs well at a basic level.
Amazon Nova Lite
At its second level, Amazon Nova offers multimodal prompt processing, supporting text, images, and video to produce text at a high speed. Amazon Nova Lite can handle real-time customer interactions, analyze documents, and answer visual questions with a high level of certainty. Additionally, it can process videos up to 30 minutes in a single prompt.
Amazon Nova Pro
Amazon Nova Pro is the best-performing model in the Amazon Nova product line. This model excels at financial document analysis and code analysis. Thanks to its ability to process up to 300,000 tokens, it can handle large amounts of data.
According to AWS, this model offers the best combination of speed, accuracy, and cost, and also yields the best results in text, video processing, and more. Amazon Nova can even be used to train Lite and Micro models.
Amazon Nova Premier
Amazon Nova Premier is still in training, but it promises to be the most powerful model among Nova products. It is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025.
